Through the generosity of the Tualatin Hills Recreation
Center and the Oregon Army National Guard, the Wilsonville skate park was
born in the winter of 1999. Residual from the vert park of Beaverton,
a six foot quarter pipe, five foot pyramid and four foot quarter were transferred
to a slab of concrete laid by the 1249th Engineer Battalion.
Citing the vicinity of the Newberg, Tualatin and
Canby skate parks, it would have been easy for Wilsonville not to build
a skate park, but they did and it has a great origin and will serve good
practice. Praise and thanks to the City of Wilsonville.
