History: Mayor Don Baxter reached out to community looking for positive recreation. A committee was created with the local youth and plans and hopes were drawn up for a 16k square foot facility. Someone must be an excellent writer because the City was very successful in receiving grants including

Many cash and in-kind donations have been received as well.

Grindline gave a proposal and designed and built the park, which is now greater than 8k square feet.

* $403 budget includes the concrete park, restroom, parking, benches and other amenities. The concrete park is ADA accessible and the rules allow everyone to ride it (bikes, scooters, wheelchairs, inline skates, and skateboards)! Not only was the first recorded backflip in a wheelchair made not long ago, but Mayor Don Baxter also uses a wheelchair.

Thanks to Jerry Breazeale for the information.
